One particular show called Crash Landing On You is seen as the most popular K-Drama this year. The show is about a South Korean Heiress who gets into a paragliding accident which drops her in North Korea. She meets a North Korean Army officer who helps her hide while also keeping her safe and slowly falling in love.

This K-Drama is written in the forbidden love and long lost lovers trope while also discussing the sensitive topics of the strained relationship between South Korea and North Korea. This drama also shows how this fight between these two countries is futile since they are all the same people. It is a story of coming of age and love and how to find out who you truly are.
